Burning Man transforms the Nevada desert into a temporary city where art and human connection collide in radical self-expression. Despite three powerful storms that tested our PlayAlchemist 300+ person camp, our 54-person crew, where I led design and decor, we built something extraordinary—a pyramid 14 layers tall contributing to the skyline of Black Rock’s temporary City. This serves as a light projection canvas, houses live music/programming, and converts to a dining space for a celebratory Gold Ball dinner. In addition to this, we built tranquil spaces, amongst them — a Tea Pavilion, a sanctuary of stillness and connection. Through mud, rain, and challenging conditions, we turned adversity into art, proving that the most meaningful creations emerge from the storms we weather together.
